Quidax is discontinuing the P2P (peer-to-peer) trading service effective January 23, 2026. This article explains what's happening, why we're making this change, and what you need to do.
Starting January 23, 2026, the P2P trading feature will no longer be available on Quidax. This includes:
- P2P marketplace
- P2P order placement
- P2P ads
- P2P chat
All other Quidax services (buy/sell, deposits, withdrawals, etc.) will continue operating normally.

We're making this change to focus on what matters most to our customers. Here's why:
Usage Patterns: The vast majority of our community uses other, faster trading methods on our platform.
Better Experience: By streamlining our services, we can invest more in the features that deliver speed, efficiency, and the improvements you've requested.
Strategic Focus: This decision aligns with our vision to provide the best crypto trading experience in Africa by focusing our resources where they have the most impact.
What You Need to Do
If You Have Active Trades:
- Complete all pending trades before January 23rd
- Release funds or mark payments as received
- Resolve any disputes immediately
If You Have Funds in P2P Wallet:
- Go to Wallets → P2P USDT Wallet
- Click "Transfer to Spot Wallet"
- Enter the amount and confirm
Important: If you don't transfer your funds, we'll automatically move them to your Spot wallet on January 23rd and email you confirmation.
If You're a Merchant:
- Close all your active ads
- Complete all pending orders
- Transfer merchant wallet balance to Spot wallet

1. Will my funds be safe? Absolutely! Any funds in your P2P wallet will be automatically transferred to your Spot wallet on January 23rd.
2. Can I still trade on Quidax? Yes! All other trading options and Quidax features will work normally.
3. What if I have a problem completing a trade? Contact us immediately via live chat or at support@quidax.com , we're prioritizing P2P issues during this transition.
4. Will this affect my KYC verification? No, your account verification status remains unchanged.
5. Can I still see my P2P transaction history? A: Yes, your complete transaction history will remain accessible in your account for your records
6. I have an active P2P trade. What should I do? A: Please complete all active trades before January 23rd. If you're having issues completing a trade, contact support immediately via live chat.
7. What if I have a dispute with a trader? A: Our team will continue to handle disputes until January 23rd. Please report any issues immediately through live chat or email support@quidax.com.
8. Will I be able to use P2P again in the future? A: We don't have plans to bring back P2P. We're focusing on other trading options that provide faster and more efficient experiences.
9. What should I use instead of P2P? A: Quidax offers several other trading options that are faster and more straightforward. Once you log in, you'll see all available trading methods on your dashboard like instant swap and order book.
10. What if I don't move my funds before Jan 23? A: No problem! We'll automatically move them for you and send you an email with the details.
11. Will this affect my other Quidax services? A: No! All other Quidax features (trading, deposits, withdrawals, etc.) will continue working normally.
12. I'm a P2P merchant. What happens to my merchant status? A: Your merchant verification status will remain in your account records, but P2P merchant features will no longer be available.
13. I have active ads. What happens to them? A: Please close your ads immediately. We'll be automatically closing all remaining ads by January 14th.
14. Will I get refunded for my merchant application fee? A: Yes, it will be refunded to your spot wallet.
15. I have funds locked in escrow. What happens? A: All escrow transactions must be completed by January 23rd. If you have issues, contact support immediately for priority handling.
