When you send or receive crypto, the transaction is recorded on the blockchain, a public, secure, and permanent digital ledger.
Being able to view your transaction on the blockchain is a powerful tool. It allows you to:
- Verify Transaction Status: See if your transaction has been confirmed and how many network confirmations it has. This helps you know if it's still being processed.
- Confirm Transfers: It's the ultimate proof that a transaction was sent or received. If someone says they sent you crypto, you can verify it yourself.
- Resolve Issues: If you ever face a delay or a problem, your transaction ID is the key piece of information for our support team to help you.
Seeing your transactions on the blockchain is simple. Think of the blockchain as a public digital ledger, and a blockchain explorer as its search engine. This tool lets you look up any transaction or address.
Using a Transaction ID (TxID)
A Transaction ID (TxID) is a unique string of letters and numbers that acts as a digital receipt for your transaction. It's proof that your transaction was broadcast to the network.
Here’s how to use it:
- Find your TxID: If you're receiving crypto (making a deposit to your Quidax wallet), you can get the TxID from the exchange/person that's sending the money to you. If you are sending out of your Quidax wallet, your TxID can be found in your wallet's transaction history on Quidax or you can reach out to support to get it.
- Find the right blockchain explorer: Each cryptocurrency has its own blockchain, so you must use the correct explorer. For example, for a Bitcoin transaction, you would use a Bitcoin explorer like Blockchain.com.
- Enter the TxID: Copy your TxID and paste it into the search bar of the blockchain explorer.
- View the details: The explorer will show you all the details of your transaction, including its status (pending or confirmed), the amount, and the addresses involved.
What if I don't have the transaction ID? You can use your address also to search
Using a Blockchain Address
A blockchain address is like an account number for your wallet on the blockchain. You can use it to see a history of all transactions associated with that address.
Here's how it works:
- Find your address: You can find your wallet address in your Quidax account under the "Receive" option for a specific coin.
- Use the correct explorer: Just like with a TxID, you need to use a blockchain explorer that is compatible with the coin's network.
- Enter the address: Copy and paste your wallet address into the search bar of the blockchain explorer.
- See your transaction history: The explorer will show you all incoming and outgoing transactions for that address.
If you have searched with transaction ID/ wallet address and can't see that transaction, then it was not sent to your wallet .
Different Blockchains for Different Coins
Not all cryptocurrencies are on the same blockchain. Many have their own, while others are built on existing ones. Here is a list of some common cryptocurrencies and the networks they run on.
